Honda offers a bevy of trim levels in its compact SUV. These include the LX, EX, EX-L and Touring trims. The manufacturer may also offer a special-edition or Sport trim, but it has yet to be announced. The base LX trim provides a 2.4-liter I-4 engine. Standard features include Bluetooth, 5.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, LED daytime running lights, rearview camera, and a USB port. Move up to the EX trim to add blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, a driver attention monitor, heated front seats, a quick-entry system, and a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen. It also offers a number of driver assistance technologies in its Honda Sensing suite plus fun tech to help you enjoy the ride like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Touring models power your drive with a 1.5-liter turbo-four engine that generates 190 horsepower. Add an extra touch of luxury with leather-trimmed upholstery. The LED headlights and rain-sensing windshield wipers help ensure a safer ride for you and your passengers. Enjoy your music and video media on the above-mentioned infotainment touchscreen but with the added enjoyment of this trim’s premium nine-speaker audio system. The Touring trim even makes loading groceries easier with its hands-free power liftgate.
Your sticker price will range between $24,250 to $34,150. That starting price does begin a few hundred dollars above its rivals but both Cars.com and US News and World Reports say it’s worth it. It also received the 2020 award for Best Compact SUV for the Money from US News.
Honda packs a lot of SUV into its compact CR-V. It provides one of the safest vehicles you can buy, receiving a 9.8 out of 10 rating in US News tests. Although it might not be fun to think about, a vehicle’s crash test rating ranks up there with one of the top factors you should consider in buying. The CR-V earned a five-star rating in its overall crash test from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It also “aced” all of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests. That means that going beyond the simple luxuries, you’ll enjoy a safer ride in the CR-V. Its safety features, premium sound system and great gas mileage make road trips fun and safer.
